KANY is Regenerative Organic Certified (ROC), which recognizes the coop’s, farmers’ and communities’ efforts to support and promote organic, regenerative practices.

Regenerative Organic Certified (ROC) was established in 2017 by a group of farmers, business leaders, and experts in soil health, animal welfare, and social fairness collectively called the Regenerative Organic Alliance (ROA).

ROA´s mission is to build soil health, ensure equity for farm workers, empower farmers, and improve animal welfare through a holistic farm-based, brand-driven certification.

The goal of ROC is to promote holistic agriculture practices in an all-encompassing certification that:

  • Increases soil organic matter over time and sequesters carbon below and above ground, which could be a tool to mitigate climate change;
  • Improves animal welfare; and
  • Provides economic stability and fairness for farmers, ranchers, and workers.

The ROC certification framework consists of three pillars:

  1. Soil Health and Land Management,
  2. Animal Welfare, and
  3. Farmer & Worker Fairness.

KANY is certified fair trade through Fair for Life (FFL), recognizing its commitment to fair employment and comprehensive support for farmers and their communities.

Fair for Life is a certification program for fair trade in agriculture, manufacturing and trade. Beyond the inherent concept of fair pricing, Fair for Life cares about responsible supply chains: having a long-term vision, making a sincere commitment and acting responsibly throughout the supply chain.

The label encourages supply chain business models that aim to strengthen the resilience of each link. Fair for Life certification is a tool that enables the valorization and protection of exemplary supply chains, where stakeholders have chosen to act responsibly by implementing good economic, social and environmental practices.

By following the framework defined by Fair for Life certification, producers, processors and brands can secure their sales and supplies, thanks to tools such as long-term contracts that include fixed prices and volumes, and by establishing a real partnership between them.
