A pilot project for adaptation to climate change for small cocoa producers through Dynamic AgroForestry, with a particular focus on women

An agroforestry project that is not limited to the distribution of seedlings? Which puts increasing income and the interests of women at the heart of its action?
This is the unique project that we will start in 2025 with a significant grant from the ENABEL Program (around 90 K Euros) and various partners (GrowAhead, Dr Bronner’s)

The general objective of the action:
Help small producers to put into practice climate change adaptation systems, which allow them to stabilize and increase their income

The specific objectives of the action are

• Install and manage dynamic agroforestry (DAF*) plots over the long term, which will be models of cocoa productivity, income diversification and resilience to climate change
• Develop local skills in dynamic agroforestry
• Convince producers of the benefits of DAF and have them adopt this system of production in their own plots
• the income and skills developed directly benefit women with a view to participating in their empowerment
